Emily has recently joined our tribe as a Recruitment Consultant. Find out more about her role, her perfect Sunday and why she loves working with us.
Tell us a bit about yourself – your background, your role at Premier Resourcing and how long you’ve been part of the team?
I graduated from The University of Brighton in May 2018 achieving a first class honors degree in Multimedia Broadcast Journalism. After this, I went on to work in PR in London for 11 months. I’ve always loved PR after completing a range of internships whilst at university. When I found the role at Premier Resourcing I jumped at the opportunity. I was ready for a new challenge but still wanted to focus on my PR skills – this felt like the perfect fit.
At Premier Resourcing I work with a range of fantastic agencies, spanning from luxury lifestyle and food and drink, to financial services and public affairs. I’ve been part of the team for around four weeks now but already feel like I’m part of the Premier Resourcing family!
What is a typical day for you?
The reason I love this role is because I’m always so busy. I thrive off a busy environment so it’s ideal. When I arrive in the morning I go through all my emails and catch up with candidates and clients. I then write a ‘To Do’ list to ensure I’m staying organised!
I look at the live roles I’ve got on the table and think which candidates would be a perfect fit, pick up the phone and start setting up interviews. I really enjoy chatting to such a vast range of people, learning about what they do and their experience.
I will set some time in the day for an in-depth LinkedIn headhunt search for all the roles I’m currently working on. This is a really great way to find new candidates. No day is the same which I love! You’re always kept on your toes – I certainly never get bored!
What is the most rewarding aspect of your job?
Helping people find their dream roles – being on that journey with them. It’s such a great feeling knowing you’re a part of it all.
And the most challenging?
The most challenging part of the job is when you’ve worked with a candidate throughout the interview process, helped them prepare the night before and they are then unsuccessful. It’s hard but important to stay positive for the candidate!
What is your favourite thing about working at Premier Resourcing?
I love the challenge. Every day is exciting and offers something new – I’m never board or clock watching! You are in control of your own desk which is something I thrive off, I love that responsibility. I also really enjoy the team at Premier Resourcing, everyone is really supportive and motivating which is crucial.
What did you want to be when you grew up?
I always wanted to be an actress or singer like most little girls… I would always put on shows for my parents and friends and school and was always the biggest drama queen…
What do you like to get up to outside of work?
I love meeting with friends and going to nice bars in Cambridge or London for day drinks! It’s the best way to catch up after a busy week. I also love taking my French Bulldog puppy Bertie out for walks with the boyfriend.
What is your idea of a perfect Sunday?
A cosy Sunday is the best kind of Sunday. Slightly hungover from the night before, go on a nice long dog walk, find a little cute pub for a pint and finish the day off with a yummy roast and film! What’s better than that?!
