£32,000–£36,000 + Bonus & Excellent Benefits
London | Hybrid – currently just 1–2 days per week in the office
Urgent hire – October/November 2026 start
Are you a natural media hound who loves finding the story, spotting the angle and getting clients into the news?
This is an exciting opportunity to join an independent, award-winning integrated communications agency of around 25–30 people and become part of its specialist Travel, Hospitality & Lifestyle team.
You'll work across an impressive portfolio of international tourism, travel, holiday resort, hospitality, automotive, bar, restaurant and lifestyle brands.
At the heart of the role is excellent media relations and storytelling. The agency is looking for someone who genuinely consumes the news, understands what makes journalists interested and can turn client activity, data, trends and the wider news agenda into compelling stories.
They're also looking for someone excited by how AI is changing PR – using AI intelligently to research, uncover trends, interrogate information and help develop fresh, leading-edge stories and media angles, rather than simply using it to generate content.
A major part of the role will involve a leading Caribbean tourism destination, particularly Barbados, so knowledge of the Caribbean, whether through heritage, personal experience or professional exposure, would be a real advantage.
Alternatively – or additionally – strong digital PR and GEO (Generative Engine Optimisation) knowledge would be particularly interesting.
The Role
You'll join a collaborative and experienced team delivering creative campaigns spanning earned media, digital PR, influencer, social and content, but with strong media relations and storytelling sitting at the core of your role.
You'll:
-
Work on a major Caribbean tourism account, helping to promote the destination through creative storytelling, media relations and integrated campaigns.
-
Support a wider portfolio of travel, holiday resort, hospitality, restaurant, automotive and lifestyle brands.
-
Build excellent relationships with travel, lifestyle, consumer and national journalists and become someone they genuinely want to hear from.
-
Constantly look for news hooks, cultural trends, emerging conversations and reactive opportunities for clients.
-
Develop strong storylines and proactively pitch ideas, features, commentary and creative stories to the media.
-
Use AI intelligently as part of the PR process – supporting research, trend identification, story development, data interrogation and the creation of sharper, more relevant media angles.
-
Draft high-quality press releases, pitches, media materials, client content and thought-leadership.
-
Take an active role in media strategy and consistently work towards securing high-quality coverage.
-
Keep close to the wider news agenda and identify opportunities for clients to contribute to relevant conversations.
-
Support press trips, launches, events, activations and creator/influencer collaborations.
-
Research and identify relevant creators and influencers where appropriate for integrated campaigns.
-
Contribute creative ideas to brainstorms and campaign planning.
-
Take increasing ownership of client activity and become a confident day-to-day client contact.
-
Support reporting, evaluation, campaign analysis and new business activity.
About You
We're looking for an established Account Executive ready to step up or an existing Senior Account Executive, ideally with around 18 months–3 years' agency experience.
Some previous travel PR experience is important, but above all, you need to be someone who genuinely enjoys the media side of PR.
You'll ideally be:
-
A genuine media hound with strong media relations skills and a track record of proactively landing coverage.
-
Naturally curious about news, culture, trends and what people are talking about.
-
Someone who can quickly recognise what makes a story and find the interesting angle in a client brief.
-
Confident proactively pitching journalists rather than relying predominantly on press releases.
-
Excited by the potential of AI within modern PR and already experimenting with how it can improve research, ideation and storytelling.
-
Experienced within travel, tourism, hospitality, consumer or lifestyle PR.
-
A strong writer with excellent verbal communication skills.
-
Creative, proactive and confident contributing ideas.
-
Highly organised with strong attention to detail.
-
Comfortable taking increasing ownership of clients and campaigns.
What Could Really Make You Stand Out?
Beyond strong media relations, the agency is particularly interested in candidates who can add something different to the team in one or more of the following areas.
Caribbean / Barbados Knowledge
A major Caribbean tourism account will form an important part of your work, so strong personal or professional knowledge of the Caribbean would be a significant advantage.
That could come through:
-
Caribbean heritage or family connections
-
Strong personal knowledge of the islands
-
Extensive travel within the Caribbean
-
Previous professional experience working with Caribbean destinations, tourism or hospitality brands
-
A particularly strong understanding of Barbados, its culture, people and tourism offering
The important thing is being able to bring genuine knowledge, understanding and fresh ideas to the account.
And/Or – Digital PR & GEO
The agency would also be particularly interested in someone with a strong digital PR skillset and an understanding of how earned communications is changing as search becomes increasingly AI-led.
Knowledge or experience across areas such as:
-
Digital PR
-
GEO – Generative Engine Optimisation
-
SEO-led PR and search visibility
-
Building brand authority through earned media
-
Understanding how PR coverage can influence visibility within AI search and answer engines
-
Using data, search behaviour and digital insight to uncover PR stories
-
Understanding how traditional media relations and digital PR increasingly work together would be highly valuable.
You don't necessarily need to bring both Caribbean expertise and GEO/digital PR experience. Either could provide an interesting additional dimension alongside the essential requirement: being really good at PR, media relations and finding stories.
The Agency
You'll be joining an established independent, award-winning communications agency of approximately 25–30 people.
The agency specialises across Lifestyle, Technology and Climate, bringing together expertise across PR, Social Media, Influencer Marketing and Content to create integrated campaigns for ambitious brands and organisations. It works with a combination of major global consumer brands, international tourism destinations, hospitality businesses, technology companies and purpose-led organisations, alongside emerging and challenger brands. The culture is independent, entrepreneurial and collaborative. People are encouraged to spot opportunities, bring ideas to the table and experiment with new ways of working, rather than being restricted to one communications discipline.
For someone interested in where PR is heading next, it's an opportunity to develop traditional media relations and storytelling skills alongside AI, digital PR, GEO, influencer and social communications.
