Marketing Lead – Strategic Communications Consultancy
📍 London | Hybrid & flexible working
💰 £70,000 + excellent benefits
A rare opportunity to own the marketing function of a highly regarded strategic communications consultancy – while also getting the variety and creativity of agency life.
We’re partnering with an independent, ambitious strategic communications consultancy to hire a Marketing Lead who can take ownership of its marketing strategy and help drive the next stage of the business's growth.
This is much more than a traditional in-house marketing role.
You'll have the autonomy to shape the consultancy's brand, digital presence, campaigns, content, thought leadership and events, working directly with Partners and senior leadership. At the same time, you'll have the opportunity to bring your marketing expertise into selected client-facing briefs, giving you an unusual blend of in-house ownership and agency variety.
The consultancy has an impressive international client base spanning financial services, technology, media, luxury, hospitality and major consumer brands, and is known for tackling complex, high-profile communications challenges.
The role
You'll become the central marketing lead for the business, turning broad commercial objectives and ideas into creative, measurable marketing activity.
Your remit will include:
- Developing and owning the annual marketing strategy, plan and calendar
- Creating integrated, multi-channel brand and lead-generation campaigns
- Leading paid social, paid search and display advertising activity
- Owning organic social activity, particularly LinkedIn
- Using analytics across reach, engagement, retention and conversion to measure effectiveness and optimise activity
- Developing compelling content, thought leadership and marketing collateral
- Working with senior consultants to build their external profiles and industry authority
- Managing creative projects including video, graphics and social content
- Supporting website content and wider digital initiatives
- Identifying and managing submissions for major industry awards
- Developing and delivering events from concept through to execution
- Measuring event and campaign ROI
- Supporting selected client briefs with marketing and digital insight
What we're looking for
You'll ideally have 5+ years' experience within a strategic, hands-on digital marketing role.
Experience within professional services, communications, PR, consultancy, B2B or another expertise-led business would be particularly relevant.
You'll bring a combination of:
- Strong integrated marketing and campaign experience
- Excellent understanding of paid and organic digital channels
- Content and social media expertise
- Confidence working with data and marketing analytics
- Excellent writing and communication skills
- Experience managing creative and brand projects
- Events and project management experience
- Strong commercial awareness and an understanding of ROI
- The confidence to work directly with Partners and senior stakeholders
- The ability to take an initial idea and independently turn it into a polished, effective campaign
Most importantly, you'll enjoy being hands-on. This isn't a role where you'll simply set the strategy and hand everything over to a large team – you'll have the freedom and autonomy to make things happen yourself while drawing on specialist colleagues when needed.
Why Join:
You'll have direct access to senior leadership, plenty of freedom to introduce new ideas and the opportunity to make a visible impact on the growth and profile of the consultancy.
The combination of in-house ownership + client-facing agency work makes this particularly interesting for someone who wants variety without sacrificing autonomy.
