PR B2B Account Director

PR Account Director – B2B/Corporate – Property & Retail  

My client is an award-winning PR agency specializing in the property, retail, and leisure sectors. They represent leading owners and asset managers, managing communications for many well-known landmarks​, with 90% of their business being retained clients.

They are now looking for a brand-new Account Director to provide senior-level strategic counsel and manage B2B PR campaigns. This role involves developing PR strategies, maintaining client relationships, managing a PR team, and contributing to business growth through new business development and effective leadership within the retail, F&B, and property sectors.

This role is perfect for someone who is strategic, proactive, inspiring and who is an experienced manager (carrying out appraisals, reviews, 121s).

  • Salary: Up to £55k + bonus & benefits

  • Hybrid: 3 days in the office: Tues, Weds, Thurs

Role and Responsibilities:

Strategy Development and Implementation

·         Ownership of developing client communication strategies and their tactical implementation.

·         Ensuring the team is tasked with pushing through news and objectives for each client.

·         Show a high level of business insight with the ability to communicate across departments and represent PR at a senior level within the business.

·         Be solutions-oriented, problem-solving account issues, and pre-empting any potential hurdles.

·         Monitoring account results/performance against client targets to ensure they remain on track.

Client Relationships

·         Establish strong relationships with clients across all accounts, proactively nurturing and managing these relationships.

·         Becoming the client’s key contact and lead counsel for strategic advice.

·         Managing client servicing and agency performance across accounts.

·         Leading in meetings and managing the team effectively to deliver results.

·         Managing an extended portfolio, ensuring consistency of service is delivered and overseeing the provision of account resources.

Team Management and Development

·         Visibly leading and managing a team of PR professionals, account managers, and account executives to ensure support and maximize the potential of team members.

·         Ensuring streamlined and effective running across accounts.

·         Delegating effectively to support strategy implementation.

·         Providing career counsel, professional development support, monitoring, and leading performance reviews.

·         Identifying, developing, and nurturing talent within the team, challenging them to be the very best and pinpointing training needs where required.

·         Contributing to and inspiring a ‘laugh and learn’ culture within the company and championing the company’s values and brand.

New Business

·         Presenting new business ideas to the senior leadership team.

·         Providing support for agency growth and development of new business.

·         Proactively seeking and attaining new client opportunities, working towards ambitious year-on-year growth targets.

·         Being involved and leading on new business pitches where required.


·         Leading by example, developing senior press relationships, and managing contacts with key commentators, industry spokespeople, and sector influencers.

·         Identifying high-profile opportunities.

·         Ensuring the team is delivering feature opportunities and encouraging the investigation of new opportunities and creative thinking.
