Social Associate Director - Consumer Brands

I'm working with a leading global communications agency to find a strategic and commercially savvy Associate Director, Social Strategy to join their award-winning team. This is an exciting opportunity to lead social strategy for one of the world’s most high-profile consumer goods clients, across a variety of lifestyle and personal care categories.

The Role

  • Social Associate Director
  • Salary: Up to £75,000 DOE
  • Location: London – Hybrid

As Associate Director, you’ll lead social thinking and innovation across multiple brands. You’ll act as the strategic lead on client briefs, guiding content and influencer strategies, and ensuring best-in-class social practices across all touchpoints. This role requires strong experience in both client relationship management and cross-functional collaboration.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own and lead social strategy and content planning across multiple product categories
  • Ensure social best practices are embedded in all campaign development
  • Guide influencer strategy and talent partnerships (including UGC and creator content)
  • Lead client relationships: agenda setting, comms planning, and campaign delivery
  • Oversee a high-performing team within the Social & Influence discipline
  • Collaborate with internal creative, research, and project management teams
  • Identify opportunities for growth and innovation on client business
  • Manage scopes of work, budget oversight, and commercial planning

Must-Have Experience

  • Senior-level experience in a social/content/integrated agency or in-house brand environment
  • Deep expertise in both paid and organic social media strategy
  • Proven success leading influencer and creator campaigns
  • Excellent client handling and relationship-building skills
  • Experience with budget and commercial management, including scopes of work
  • Ability to lead and mentor multidisciplinary teams
  • Strong understanding of strategic frameworks and content ecosystems
