This is a brand new role within the team 

We’re partnering with a highly respected, creatively-led communications agency to find an exceptional Director of Social Media. This is a senior leadership role for someone who lives and breathes social culture and understands how social, influencer and earned media come together to create work that genuinely cuts through.

This isn’t an execution-only role. It’s about vision, creative judgement, cultural insight and building a best-in-class social offering within an ambitious and fast-growing agency.

You’ll be given real influence to shape the direction of social, set the standard for excellence, and lead a talented team to produce work that people actually want to engage with.


The Role:

You’ll take ownership of the agency’s social, digital and influencer output, setting the strategic and creative direction across key clients. You’ll work closely with PR, creative and strategy leads to ensure social thinking is embedded from the very start of every idea.

This role suits someone who wants to push boundaries, challenge clients and raise expectations.


What you’ll be doing:

  • Defining social and influencer strategy across major accounts
  • Leading social-first thinking across platforms like TikTok, Instagram, YouTube and emerging channels
  • Acting as a senior, trusted voice with clients on social, creators and content
  • Leading pitches, reviews and high-level client conversations
  • Building, mentoring and motivating a senior social team
  • Developing new social and influencer products and propositions
  • Playing a key role in new business and agency growth
  • Ensuring social work is delivered profitably and at the highest standard
  • Keeping the agency ahead of platform changes, trends and innovation

What they are looking for:

  • Significant experience leading social media within an agency environment (PR, social or integrated)
  • A strong understanding of platforms, creators and how earned ideas travel online
  • Proven senior client leadership experience
  • Excellent creative judgement and a clear point of view on what “great” social looks like
  • Confident people leadership skills with experience developing senior talent
  • Commercial awareness and enthusiasm for growth and new business
