Social media manager - hospitality, restaurants, hotels and lifestyle brands

Location: London
Salary: £45,000–£55,000, dependant on experience
Working pattern: Hybrid, minimum two days per week in the office

The Opportunity

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Social Media Manager to join a growing, independent communications agency with a strong specialism in hospitality, restaurants, hotels and lifestyle brands.

As the agency continues to expand its social and creative offering, it is looking for a creatively minded social media professional who understands the ever-changing social landscape and knows how to turn trends, insights and ideas into effective strategies for clients.

This is a strategic and client-facing role, with responsibility for developing social media strategies, shaping content and overseeing delivery across a portfolio of approximately six clients.

The agency has a dedicated social and graphics team, with content production resourced separately. While the ability to shoot content would be a bonus, the priority is someone who can develop ideas, direct creative output, advise clients and understand what makes social content effective.

The Role

  • Develop and implement social media strategies across a portfolio of approximately six clients.
  • Lead social planning and identify opportunities to increase engagement, reach and brand relevance.
  • Stay ahead of emerging trends, platform developments, content formats and changes in audience behaviour.
  • Generate creative ideas and translate them into compelling social media campaigns and content plans.
  • Write, develop or oversee social media copy and ensure content is relevant, engaging and aligned with each brand.
  • Take responsibility for the quality and consistency of social output across client accounts.
  • Work closely with the paid media team to develop creative assets and ensure organic and paid activity work effectively together.
  • Present ideas, recommendations and strategies to clients, acting as a confident and knowledgeable adviser.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across PR, creative and digital to identify opportunities for integrated campaigns.
  • Explore opportunities to incorporate influencer activity where relevant to your experience and client needs.

The primary platforms are TikTok and Instagram, with additional activity across YouTube, LinkedIn, Snapchat and Pinterest depending on the client.

What They're Looking For

  • Experience in social media management, ideally within an agency or a fast-paced consumer-facing environment.
  • Strong social media strategy and planning skills, with a clear understanding of platform behaviour and emerging trends.
  • A creative mindset and the ability to develop ideas that are relevant, engaging and effective.
  • Strong copywriting and content oversight skills.
  • Confidence presenting to clients and explaining the rationale behind strategic and creative recommendations.
  • An understanding of how organic social and paid social activity can work together.
  • A proactive, curious approach, with a genuine interest in the future of social media and content.
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple clients and priorities.

Experience within hospitality, restaurants, hotels, food and drink or lifestyle would be beneficial, but is not essential. Candidates from sectors such as fashion, sport and other consumer-facing industries will also be considered.

A genuine interest in the hospitality and lifestyle space, alongside a passion for social media and creative strategy, is important.

Why Join?

  • Join a growing agency with an established portfolio of hospitality and lifestyle clients.
  • Work across a varied mix of brands, from independent restaurants to established hospitality groups.
  • Join a sizeable social and creative team, collaborating with specialists across different disciplines.
  • Have the opportunity to influence social strategy, creative direction and the work delivered for clients.
  • Work in a fast-moving environment where ideas, initiative and staying ahead of trends are encouraged.
  • Develop your career as the agency continues to expand its social and creative capabilities.
